President Park Chung-hee & VP Chen Cheng Two Signed Photographs

A pair of signed photographs of South Korean President Park Chung-hee and Republic of China Vice President Chen Cheng. Both are signed in Chinese and Korean characters. The first is a small black and white photograph of Chen, measuring 3.5" x 5", dated Ca. December 31, 1963. Signed at the lower right corner. Stamped on verso. Accompanied by a typed letter signed by "Fredrick F. Chien" addressed to Leo J. Sylvor, thanking him for his card which "His Excellency…will forever treasure as token of Sino-American friendship." The letter mentions sending the included signed photograph as requested. The photograph is very fine, with minimal wear or scratching. Boldly signed. Mail folds and toning to the letter.

The second photograph is a color portrait of Park, measuring 5.25" x 7.5" (sight), undated. Signed at the lower right corner. The photograph is housed in a white presentation folder measuring 7.5" x 9.5" overall. The photograph is very fine, with a bold signature. Light soiling and toning to the folder.

Chen Cheng (1897-1965) was a political-military leader who served as a commander of the National Revolutionary Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War. After the civil war, Chen moved to Taiwan and served as Governor of Taiwan Province, Vice President of the Republic of China, and 31st Premier of the Republic of China. Park Chung-hee (1917-1979) was a politician and army general who led a military coup in 1961 to become the leader of South Korea. He ruled as a de facto military dictator for the first two years before becoming president in 1963 until his assassination in 1979.

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
