Description:

Roosevelt Franklin

FDR "Who's Who" revisions to his biographical sketch in his own hand in 1919, including the excising of one word, "Democrat"

Autograph Document [Note Signed, "Franklin D. Roosevelt", Who's Who in America revision form, September 26, 1919, one page, 8.5" x 11". An update form from Who's Who in America from 1919, with the biography of FDR from a prior edition pasted on the form for revision purposes.

FDR makes several updates and pens in some other accomplishments in his own hand, such as being "in charge of inspection of U.S. naval forces in European waters, July-Sept. 1918 and of demobilization in Europe-Jan-Feb, 1919." Interestingly enough, FDR seems to overemphasize the significance of his executive duties vis-a-vis American demobilization in his 1919 Who's Who revision in his own hand. FDR also adds that he is an "Overseer of Harvard" (a position he held until 1924). Some inked editorial changes include excision of one word ("Democrat"- an interesting word to excise on a document of this type, given the fact that FDR would forever transform the Democratic Party in the United States) in FDR's own hand, plus full signature. Original folds, center fold expertly strengthened on the blank verso, and light edge wear; overall very good condition.
