Includes original Air Mail envelope bearing Oceana Apartment Hotel's preprinted return address, which is where Laurel resided. Expected mailing folds and light creasing, else near fine.
Laurel writes to a friend’s brother in Canada who was recently diagnosed with cancer. In part, "So sorry to hear about your illness - your Brother Bill asked me to drop you a little note, he thought it would help to cheer you up a bit as you had been a Laurel & Hardy fan for a long time.”
Stan Laurel (1890-1965) was an English actor, writer, and film director who was one half of the beloved comic duo Laurel and Hardy. He and his partner, American actor Oliver Hardy (1892-1957), starred in over 100 silent, sound, short, and feature-length films after they officially paired in 1927. In April 1961, at the 33rd Academy Awards, Laurel was given an Academy Honorary Award for his pioneering work in comedy, and he has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
