Rose Pelswick Huge Archive of Letters, Photos, Documents, Etc. (100+)

An extensive archive of photographs, letters, programs, personal documents, screenplays, newspaper clippings, etc. related to journalist and film critic, Rose Pelswick [Pelzweig]. All of the letters are addressed to Pelswick, dating from 1961 to 1965. The photographs (over 80) are a mixture of images of Pelswick, both candid and studio portraits, and of her friends, some inscribed and signed. With varying degrees of wear, toning, soiling, chipping, etc. Overall very good. Highlights from the collection include:

1. "Hold That Tiger" typed story by Pelswick, 4pp.
2. "Romeo and Juliet or The Locomotive Engineer's Revenge" screenplay, 16pp.
3. Agreement between Rose Pelswick and William Anthony McGuire, Re: Tillie or Hollywood.
4. "First Night Murder: A Mystery Melodrama In Three Acts" typed story (partial).
5. Rose Pelswick Passport, Issued May 25, 1965
6. Multiple membership cards, including the New York Newspaper Guild, Guild Enterprises Inc., Salmagundi Club, and the Board of Governors for the National Arts Club.
7. Health Insurance Card, 1966.
8. Identification Card, with name, address, phone, social security number, and emergency phone numbers.
9. Over 80 photographs, many of Rose Pelswick, 7 color images of her painting exhibition, and four negatives.
10.16 Letters from friends such as William Castle (Director of "Rosemary's Baby"), Bryan Forbes (Director of "Stepford Wives"), Eleanor Harris (Author of "Career Cat"), Joseph E. Levine (Producer of "Godzilla"), and Harold Salemson (fellow Film and Book Critic).

Rose Pelswick (1900-1981), born Rose Pelzweig, was born in Slovakia and became a movie critic for the "New York Journal-American" and the "Evening Journal" and hosted several radio movie club programs on WHN and WPAP. Pelswick also wrote a number of stories under the pseudonym F.G. Parke, including "First Night Murder."

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
