Bush George W.

Pres. George W. Bush's Personally-Owned Camp David Timex Watch, Inscribed with His Name, Date, and the Words" Camp David"

Timex Camp David watch, personally owned by George Bush and inclusive of his name, date and place on the dial as "President / George W. Bush / Camp David / April 13, 2002". Embellished with the American flag on the dial. Lizard skin black watch strap. 1.25" diameter dial face with the strap running 10" from tip to tip with the verso of the strap having a gilt stamp of 18XL. Accompanied by impeccable provenance of the signed certification by the Valet of both Presidents Bush and Obama, Samuel Sutton.

Presidential attire can be a source of fascination for the public (furthermore, this is true not just for Americans -note how the British focus on the daily dress of their Royal's). Unlike many other Presidents who wore expensive time pieces, George Bush coveted a relatively inexpensive Timex quartz watch. This piece bore his name, date but also the words "Camp David". He was often photographed wearing both this watch, and with a similar Timex watch (but without the Camp David inscription), both time pieces sporting an emblem of the American flag on the dial. Perhaps his interest was to provide an indication of his hopes for a more populist appearance, or perhaps he found his watch as a unifying symbol post 9/11. Below are spectacular images of the President sporting his favorite American Flag Timex's on occasions while with Tony Blair. The two met regularly after the 9/11 terrorist attack. The camp David image also show Bush in his favorite leather bomber jacket.

An incredibly unique Presidential artifact with spectacular provenance.
