Description:

Kennedy Assassination Huge Drawing of JFK's Wounds by Attending Doctor

[JOHN F. KENNEDY] Extremely large 16" x 20" signed drawing entitled "President Kennedy's Wounds as I saw him at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on November 22, 1963", rendered by Dr. Robert McClelland, one of the physicians who attended to John F. Kennedy at Parkland Hospital after the President was shot. Artboard measures 16" x 20". Small ding to the upper left edge, overall in near fine condition. Very rare and collectible drawing by Dr. McClelland, especially in this size. With Beckett COA.

McClelland was the doctor responsible for holding the President's head as other surgeons tried to save his life, and was therefore in the unique position to see the extent of his head wounds, which he illustrates and describes in detail here. McClelland has stated that he "absolutely" believes there were two shooters, which his drawing suggests. With the right side of the head in profile, McClelland draws a large "5x5 inch Exit Wound which I saw closely" at the back of the head, with a corresponding "Probable Entry Wound at Hairline although I did not see this" near the forehead. He also draws a bullet wound on the front of the neck, differing from the Warren Commission report by stating that it's the "Small entry wound low in the neck which I did see closely"; the Warren Commission stated that the bullet entered Kennedy's back and exited through the neck. McClelland also writes, "Probably small exit wound, although I did not see this" on the upper back. McClelland signs the document, "by Robert N. McClelland, M.D. / July 17, 2017".
