Description:

Jack Kerouac 3 Personally-Owned 45 Records: Ella Fitzgerald & Xmas Music

A group of three 45 RPM records belonging to Jack Kerouac, including music by Ella Fitzgerald and several Christmas songs. Each record is housed in two separate sleeves. Each sleeve has been stamped with both a Jack Kerouac Estate stamp and the raised blind seal from the Executor of the Estate, John Sampas, who was the brother-in-law of Jack Kerouac and the brother of Stella Kerouac, Jack's wife.Expected wear from use to the records. Light creasing and soiling to the album sleeves. The records are assumed to be in working order but have not been tested.

The first record, produced by Verve Records, 1959, includes two tracks by Ella Fitzgerald: "Like Young" and "Beat Me Daddy Eight to the Bar."

The second record is a 3-on-1 Golden Records, distributed by Affiliated Published, Inc., in 1960. Includes the songs "The Twelve Days of Christmas", "Winter Wonderland", "Little Drummer Boy", and "Mr. Snow."

Housed in the same sleeve is the third "45", a 20th Century Fox record from 1958. Includes "Die Lorelei" and "The Little Drummer Boy" by The Harry Simeone Chorale (originally composed by Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941). Simeone changed the title, which had originally been "Carol of the Drum", and would receive joint authorship-and-composition credit for the album, despite the fact that he did not actually write or compose the song.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
