Three Lincoln Home Bricks. Each measuring 1.5" x 0.625" x 0.5", dating c. February 12, 1958. Produced by Harry C. Jorgensen, Mason Contractor. The small molded pieces of brick are numbered 2590, 2550, and 2588, and are mounted to a small card. Two are accompanied by an information card that reads: "The segment of hand moulded brick mounted on this base is a part of the original brick foundation of Abraham Lincoln's home at 8th & Jackson Sts., Springfield, Illinois. It was salvaged during a repair contract completed in July 1954."

Eight Prints and Engravings of Abraham Lincoln. Of varying sizes, ranging from 10" x 12" to 4.75" x 7". The group includes numerous seated portraits of Lincoln, early portraits, and two illustrations entitled "The Blue and the Gray" (dated 1897) and "A Lincoln-Douglas debate".

Four cartes de visite of Lincoln. All measure approximately 2.5" x 4", undated, with no back stamps identifying the maker. The first is a family portrait, with a seated Lincoln reading to one of his sons. The second is of Lincoln's Springfield, Illinois home. The third is a vignetted image of Lincoln reading to Thad Lincoln. And the fourth is a multiple portrait image, entitled "Peace Commissioners", featuring portraits of Lincoln, Sherman, Grant, Sheridan, Porter, and Farragut.

Minimal wear to the bookends. Minor wear and creasing to the base paper the bricks are mounted on. Varying degrees of wear to the prints and cartes de visite, with light toning and soiling. Some bumping to the corners.

Abraham Lincoln purchased a house in Springfield, Illinois in 1844. The residence was near his law office, and Mary Todd Lincoln ran the house with the aid of a hired servant and a family member. The house was the only home that Lincoln ever owned, and three of his children were born there. After Lincoln's death, his son Robert Todd Lincoln donated the house to the state of Illinois, on the condition that it would be open to the public, free of charge. The home was made a National Historic Landmark on December 19, 1960, and is now managed by the National Park Service.
