Description:

Babe Ruth Sweet Spot Signed "World Champs" Baseball, with Additional Signatures

Measuring approximately 9" in circumference, no place, dated 1932. A K. of C. League baseball, signed on the sweet spot "Babe Ruth". Someone, perhaps the ball's owner, has inscribed on the ball "World Champs". Additional signatures include pitchers John Allen and Lefty Gomez, and coach Cy Perkins. The ball shows signs of wear and soiling, making it a possibility that it was a game-used ball. Housed in a clear cube case and accompanied by a PSA letter of authentication.

George Herman "Babe" Ruth (1895-1948) is one of the most beloved figures in baseball history. As a member of the Yankees “Murderer’s Row” lineup, Ruth earned renown from his towering home runs and larger-than-life personality under the bright lights of “The House That Ruth Built”. It was during the 1932 World Series (Game 3) that Ruth made his apocryphal "called shot".

John Thomas Allen (1904-1959) was an American pitcher who played for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Browns, Brooklyn Dodgers, and New York Giants.

Vernon Louis "Lefty" Gomez (1908-1989) was a left-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees and the Washington Senators.

Ralph Foster "Cy" Perkins (1896-1963) was a professional baseball player, coach, and manager. Following his playing career with the Philadelphia Athletics, Perkins coached for the Yankees, Tigers, and Philadelphia Phillies.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
