N.d., n.p. The color photograph on semi-glossy paper shows the crew in white space suits, seated or standing in front of a blown-up detail of the lunar surface. The printed caption below reads: "Prime Crew of Fifth Manned Apollo Mission / Neil A. Armstrong - Michael Collins - Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr." outside of the image in the bottom margin. The NASA logo and a brief mission description are printed verso, along with code "MSCL-30." Expected wear including a lightly wrinkled upper left corner, else near fine, 8" x 10." The superb Apollo XI crew signed NASA photo is accompanied by not one but two Letters of Authenticity: a LOA from James Spence Authentication (Parsippany, New Jersey), certification number Z85820, dated August 13, 2018; and a LOA from PSA/DNA Authentication Services (Newport Beach, California), certification number AH04008, dated November 6, 1019.
Apollo XI Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin crewed the Apollo XI mission to space from July 16-July 24, 1969. Armstrong and Aldrin were the first humans to step onto the moon's gray and granular surface on July 20, 1969. While on the moon, the astronauts took photographs, placed a TV camera, collected geological samples, set up seismic and laser experiments, and even received a celebratory phone call from President Nixon.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
