Abraham Lincoln Memorabilia, Enormous 25+ Pc Dealers' Lot!

 

A large assortment of memorabilia relating to President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). The lot includes a handsome signature of Robert Todd Lincoln as well as busts, statuettes, bas reliefs, silhouettes, pins, and artwork depicting Lincoln; in addition to vintage postcards, books, booklets, and paper miscellany relating to Lincoln.

 

Autographs and ephemera include:

 

- An original autograph of Robert Todd Lincoln (1843-1926), Lincoln's eldest son, as "Robert T. Lincoln" on an off-white stock card encapsulated in a plastic mount. Minor edge darkening to the top, else near fine. With expected wear to mount. The card measures 3.75" x 2.125".

 

- Lincoln artwork, including a gorgeous book plate engraving excised from a copy of George Bancroft's Memorial Address on the Life and Character of Abraham Lincoln and an original pen and ink drawing with art teacher's notes.

 

- Ten small books, booklets, and pamphlets with such titles as "Religious Views of Abraham Lincoln", "Abraham Lincoln by Friend and Foe", and "What would Lincoln say to this Generation?" Including two Lincoln birthday centennial pieces. Also a vintage postcard of Lincoln's log cabin birthplace.

 

- Six autograph and antique collector catalogues, including three from Bruce Gimelson, Autographs (Fort Washington, Pennsylvania), as well as exhibition catalogues and magazines relating to Lincoln memorabilia.

 

Three-dimensional items include:

 

- Wall plaque, round beveled mahogany base, with bronze bas relief of Lincoln's head in profile at center. Fitted for hanging. Approximately 5.5" in diameter.

 

- Bronze paperweight, with Lincoln's bas relief profile recto, and important life dates encircled by a laurel wreath verso. A few surface anomalies, else near fine. 3" in diameter.

 

- Papier mâché bas relief bust of Lincoln on black card mount, labeled verso "Made of U.S. National Greenbacks redeemed and macerated at the U.S. Treasury. Estimate $5,000. Made at Washington, D.C." Bent lower left corner of mount, else very good.

 

- Two silhouettes of Lincoln featuring facsimile signatures, including one on fabric. Both in oval-shaped frames. The larger one with some surface grime.

 

- Painted plaster bust of Lincoln on a block base, isolated paint loss to the head, 4.75" high. Bronzed cast metal bust of Lincoln, along with plastic figurine, both approximately 2.5" high.

 

- Four pins/buttons of Lincoln, Mary Todd Lincoln, and Tad Lincoln, on cardboard mount.

We do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
