This is just a small snapshot of the items included in this lot. There are numerous additional items from the "Windows on the World" restaurant, along with menus, matchboxes, and other ephemera from The Greatest Bar on Earth, the Windows on the World Win School, and Tall Ships Bar and Grill, all located in the World Trade Center complex that was destroyed. There is a beautiful set of limited edition pins, No. 413 of 1,000, housed in a wooden box, dedicated to the firefighters and other people who both helped and lost their lives in the disaster. Items from the Vista Hotel (Also known as the Vista International Hotel and the World Trade Center Hotel) include sewing kits, a shoe horn, and matchboxes. There are also numerous tickets and passes from the World Trade Center Observation Deck and from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. As described in the headline, there are over 100 items in the archive, all of which are unique and related to one of America's most tragic days in history. From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist.

The main dining rooms of the "Windows on the World" restaurant complex were located on the 106th and 107th floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Originally opened in 1976, the restaurant was temporarily shuttered following the 1993 bomb explosion, renovated, and reopened with great fanfare in 1996; its 25th-anniversary celebration was slated for October 2001. Prior to its destruction on September 11, 2001, the "Windows on the World" restaurant ranked as the highest-grossing restaurant in the United States, typically serving 800 lavish dinners per night, and attracting many celebrities.

There are very few remaining examples of any "Windows on the World", "Greatest Bar on Earth", or "Vista Hotel" memorabilia. This is because the restaurants were obliterated in the collapse of the World Trade Center. It's estimated that approximately 120 restaurant staff and breakfast patrons died in the "Windows on the World" restaurant after Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower at 8:46 am on September 11, 2001, blocking off all exits. Vista International Hotel had 940 guests registered on that day, and the National Association for Business Economics was holding its yearly conference there.
