14th Dalai Lama Signed Color Photo & Card

A small group of material autographed by the 14th Dalai Lama (aka Tenzin Gyatso, born 1935), comprised of a signed photograph, a signed card, and an original transmittal sheet reading in part, "With the Compliments of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama." Very good to near fine condition, with individual issues discussed below.

The lot includes:

1. A glossy color photograph showing a bust portrait of the Dalai Lama in scarlet monk's robes, signed in the bottom right corner. A moderate crease passes at a diagonal along the Dalai Lama's shoulders and the middle of his face, while a more minor crease affects the upper left corner. The signature is bold and untouched. Else near fine. 5" x 7."

2. A card signed, inscribed, and dated by the Dalai Lama at center. An isolated mounting trace is found verso, else near fine. 4.375" x 3.375."

3. A printed transmittal sheet from the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama bearing the Emblem of Tibet at top; the seal representing the Tibetan government in exile features the Himalayas, sun, moon, and snow lions at top. Below the courteous message is the address of the Thekchen Choling Buddhist organization in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India. Expected wear including flattened paper folds, isolated foxing, and a slightly wrinkled top edge, else near fine. 4.5" x 6.75."

A Tibetan Buddhist monk, the 14th Dalai Lama is the most powerful religious leader of Tibet, and is considered to be a living Bodhisattva. His role was also political before his resignation from the Tibetan government in exile in 2011. The Dalai Lama resides in India.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
