WWII Confidential Operation Plans - SOPA Instructions, April 28, 1945

24pp, measuring 8" x 10.5", no place, dated April 28, 1945. Issued by R.K. Turner, Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy, Commander T.F. 51, Joint Expeditionary Force and ComPhibsPac. Confidential SOPA Instructions, marked ComPhibsPac No. A1-45, detailing procedures to be followed for assaults and occupations of Kerama Retto, Western Okinawa, and Eastern Okinawa. Includes instructions for Anchorage, Security, Defense Against Air Attack, Communications, Convoy and Routing Communications, Logistics, Unloading, and Misc. With Special Instructions for assaults on Kerama Retto and Western Okinawa. A statement in the introduction reads in part: "This document contains information affecting the national defense of the United States within the meaning of the Espionage Act…DESTROY AT ONCE IF THERE IS DANGER OF LOSS OR COMPROMISE." With light edge toning and creasing at the left vertical edge. Pages have been stapled together. Minor ink soiling in places.

These documents comprise of operational plans and instructions for assaults during the Volcano and Ryukyu Islands Campaign, specifically the invasion of Okinawa (April 1 - June 21, 1945). Relating specifically to Task Force 52, part of the Amphibious Support Forces, and led by Rear Admiral William H.P. Blandy.

All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
