Wayne Gretzky's 1994 All-Star Used Game Jersey. Inscribed to former MLB Player!

The striking purple and black sweater features "star" imagery to match the theme of the game, with "NHL Western Conference" and captain's "C" patches on chest, and "Gretzky 99" taking up the rear, with those digits repeated on each sleeve as well along with decorative patches for the Madison Square Garden event. Collar holds "CCM [size] 56" tagging. Wear is appropriately light for a single period of exhibition game action. A notation in an unknown hand (but likely Gretzky's) appears on the fight strap, reading "All-Star Game Sweater #2." A flawless black sharpie inscription on verso reads, "To Duane, Your Friend, Wayne Gretzky 99, 1994." With impeccable provenance and All-Star Game appeal, this ranks as one of the most attractive Gretzky jerseys to surface in recent years.

Included in the lot is Letter of provenance from MLB Player Duane Ward which reads in part:

"...I had the honor of meeting and becoming very good friends with Wayne Gretzky and his family. Through the years our paths crossed numerous times in Toronto and Los Angeles. It was on a trip to Los Angeles that I attended his wife Janet Jones' birthday party, by invitation from Wayne and his family. While at the party I asked Wayne for one of his Hockey jerseys, it was at that time he promised me that he would give me his second period All-Star game jersey..."

This jersey sold in Heritage Auctions in 2016 for $9,560, we feel that it could be worth a lot more now!

Wayne Gretzky is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and former head coach and executive. He is widely considered to be the greatest hockey player of all time and is aptly referred to as "The Great One". He has played 20 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) and is the only player to have scored over 200 points in one season. He is the all-time leading scorer in NHL history, with more goals and assists than any other player. He won four Stanley Cup championships, nine Hart Trophies as the league's Most Valuable Player, ten Art Ross Trophies as the leading scorer, and five Lady Byng trophies for sportsmanship. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999.
