Description:

Superb Jack Kerouac Photographic Contact Sheet of One of a Kind Images ca. 1968, Estate Provenance

An 11" x 8.5" black and white photographic contact sheet for three strips of positives created from sequential negative images (each image size is 1.5" x 1"). Verso of sheet has notes of "Photographs by Christopher Knight 2/68". A fantastic set of fun candid pictures of Kerouac, taken in his home at 5169 10th Ave. N., in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1968. Along the bottom edge of each strip is "Kodak Tri X Pan Film", and "Kodak Safety Film". Other than perhaps one of the individual photographs, we were not able to locate the others as being published. This one-of-a-kind, very personal, fantastic set comes directly from the Kerouac estate with likely never before seen images of Kerouac! Sheet is on glossy paper, with a small intact tear along the right edge not affecting the images. Provenance: The piece will be accompanied by an estate certification signed by John Shen-Sampas, executor of the Kerouac Estate. John Shen-Sampas is the son of John Sampas, who was the brother-in-law of Jack Kerouac, and the brother of Stella Kerouac, Jack's wife.
