Rare Presidential ALS with “George Bush” Timex Watch Presented by George H.W. Bush to an Incumbent Republican Congressman
Rare Autograph Letter Signed “George Bush” as President, on both sides of the card he introduced to the White House, 6.25” x 4.25”, gilt presidential seal in the upper left with “THE PRESIDENT” engraved in black. [The White House, Washington, D.C.], January 30, 1990. To Bev (Beverly Young), wife of Congressman C.W. (Bill) Young (R-Florida). Tiny crease at one corner. Fine condition.

The Bush presidential ALS was removed from a 10” x 10” blue cloth covered board from which it was held in place with picture corners. The black Timex Quartz watch given by Bush to Young remains displayed on the blue cloth board. Not numbered, “George / Bush” is lettered in gilt at the “6” position on the face of the watch.
Republican Charles William (Bill) Young represented Florida in the House of Representatives from 1971 until his death in October 2013. Young was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions which nominated Nixon in 1968 and 1972, Ford in 1976, and Reagan in 1984.
