Lord CP Snow Letter Archive with 2 Letters from Christopher Isherwood

A group of typed letters signed related to Lord Charles P. Snow, with seven from Charles and signed "Charles", and two from his wife, Lady Snow, signed "Pamela". All are addressed to Gilbert Phelps Esq. The group includes the following:

1p, measuring 5.75" x 8.25", London, dated October 11, 1966. Signed "Charles", expressing his annoyance at recent news from Phelps.
1p, measuring 5.875" x 8.25", London, dated October 13, 1971. Signed "Charles", about Phelps' Tenants of the House.
1p, measuring 5.75" x 8.25", London, dated November 21, 1971. Signed "Charles", making plans to go for drinks.
1p, measuring 8" x 10", London, dated May 22, 1979. Signed "Charles", expressing his sympathies for Phelps' publishing troubles and offering advice.
1p, measuring 8" x 10", London, dated January 21, 1980. Signed "Charles", writing about a recent illness that has kept him from work.
1p, measuring 8" x 10", London, dated February 29, 1980. Signed "Charles", about being diagnosed with migratory arthritis.
2pp, measuring 6" x 8", London, dated January 28, 1958. Signed "Pamela", concerning an upcoming trip to the United States.
1p, measuring 6.25" x 8.5", London, dated October 2, 1980. Signed "Pamela", thanking Phelps for a kind letter and stating her disappointment at having missed his visit.

Accompanied by a Christopher Isherwood Autograph Postcard Signed and TLS. Both are addressed to L. Arnold Weissberger, dated April 22, 1958, signed "Christopher Isherwood" and December 3, 1962, signed "Christopher". The letters have varying degrees of toning and light soiling. One of the typed letters has two holes punched at the top edge. All are boldly signed.

Charles Percy Snow (1905-1980) was an English novelist and chemist, best known for his novels Strangers and Brothers and Two Cultures. Christopher Isherwood (1904-1986) was an Anglo-American novelist, playwright, and screenwriter, best known for his novel Goodbye to Berlin. This semi-autobiographical novel inspired the 1964 musical Cabaret.

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
