Kerouac Jack 1922 - 1969 Limited Numbered Edition "Visions of Cody" signed by Jack Kerouac - an excerpt from the longer novel then considered unpublishable which was published 13 years later, after Kerouac's death



Book Signed "Jack Kerouac" on the colophon page of Visions of Cody by Jack Kerouac, 128p, 5.5" x 8.5". Publisher's original acetate dust jacket, minor tears at edges, is present. From the colophon: "750 copies of this book were printed for New Directions in December, 1959 at the press of Igal Roodenko, New York and signed by the author. This is number 486." Fine condition.


Two-toned binding, purple and cream, with title on front board and on spine. Kerouac designed the printed boards. Visions of Cody is an excerpt from the long novel of the same name, which is Kerouac's favorite, but which was considered unpublishable at the time. Written in 1951-1952, it was first published in its entirety in 1972, three years after Kerouac's death.

With original 4" x 8" publicity card which states that the "long novel is considered unpublishable at present."

We currently ship via FedEx but if your purchase is shipping to a P.O. Box, we ship via USPS. All items are insured. We ship from our offices in Westport, CT. We may opt to use a third party shipper for very fragile, bulky or oversized items. Items requiring third party shipping will be denoted in the item description. Packages shipped internationally will have full value declared on shipping form. International buyers will be responsible for any customs fees incurred.
