President Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy stayed at the Hotel Texas, in Room 850, on November 21, 1963. The hotel ballroom hosted a Presidential breakfast and was attended by numerous politicians and their wives. Kennedy delivered a short address, emphasizing the importance of national defense. Jackie Kennedy was also unexpectedly summoned by her husband and arrived wearing her now-famous pink wool suit and pillbox hat.
Cecil William Stoughton (1920-2008) was an American photographer, famous for being President Kennedy's official photographer during his years in the White House. He took over 8,000 photographs of the Kennedy family, both public and private, from the inauguration to the assassination. Stoughton famously took the only photograph ever published of JFK, Bobby Kennedy, and Marilyn Monroe together. He was also the only photographer present on Air Force One when Johnson was sworn in, and captured the iconic image of Johnson flanked by his wife and the still blood-splattered Jackie Kennedy.
