Jackie Kennedy's Superb ALS to John-Johns Teacher, "A great teacher is the rare and greatest blessing that can pass through one's life"

Two page autograph letter signed on pale blue stationary with the imprint to the top of "1040 Fifth Avenue". Dated "February 3, 1974", and signed by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis as "Jacqueline Onassis".  5.25" x 7.5". Near fine with expected folds. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity by Beckett Authentication.

A warm and appreciative letter penned by Jacqueline to John-John's middle school teacher, Mr. Reed. Her comments express the incredible impact that a teacher has on a child, a transient period in one's life where a teacher can open the world to someone, and light a fire of enthusiasm to explore, learn and challenge themselves and the world they live in. Jacqueline refers to this as enlarging the world for a child. Her important and emotional letter is shown in part below:

"Dear Mr. Reed,

I know how strong your emotions were at leaving Collegiate, last Thursday evening.

They were matched by the feelings of every parent in the room who ever had a child with you in the middle school.

I feel so sorry for the boys coming on who won't find you there - and so fortunate that you were there for John.

A great teacher is the rare and greatest blessing that can pass through one's life. How they enlarged the world for one - How they enlarge it for one's children-

I hope you realize how really extraordinary you are-..."
