Jack Ruby Signed Jailhouse Drawings, 8 Pieces

Eight geometrical pencil drawings signed by Jack Ruby, all 7" x 4", with the edges folded back and dated 1965, from the Dallas County Jail in Dallas, Texas. One is to Ray Pennington, Jack Ruby's bodyguard in prison; one is to Jerry Walker; four are to Thomas Miller, and two are not inscribed to anyone, but are signed and dated by Ruby. All dates are in the year of 1965. From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist.

These mysterious drawings were perhaps best described by Ray Pennington, who went into detail regarding when and how Ruby would work on the drawings, and his state of mind at the time: "He worked on these drawings when he was nervous, restless, or aggrivated [sic] about something. Just when the mood hit him - he would work until he got tired or sleepy. He sharpened his pencil constantly on a scratch piece of paper ... he never gave any reason for folding the paper around the edge...He could make phone calls but would hesitate to do so because 'they' would know who his family and friends were. 'They' would come + kill his family and friends. He never told me who 'they' were."

The forensic mystery around Ruby's geometric patterned drawings is still nebulous. Some believe in the possibility that there is significance in the patterns. This phenomenal set with its intriguing past is worthy of further investigation!
