Signed by Jack Ruby as "Jack Ruby," and by Dick Stubbs and His Silver Spur Ramblers or any other name used by Dick Stubbs of Dallas County as "Dick Stubbs." The contract was additionally witnessed and notarized. Near fine. From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist.

An intriguing entertainment contract between Ruby and one of his entertainers for his club, binding Dick Stubbs to hire Jack Ruby as his "exclusive and personal business manager and Agent for all of their personal appearances as professional singers, musicians, and entertainers. The contract also binds Ruby to "the best of his ability to obtain .. the best bookings, dates and public appearances for entertainment ... whether in person, television, radio, motion pictures or other mechanical or personal entertainment purpose..."

In 1947, Ruby moved to Dallas to help run the Singapore Supper Club (later called the Silver Spur Club), which was owned by one of his sisters. That year, he also legally changed his name to Jack L. Ruby. He subsequently became involved in other nightclub operations and had varying degrees of success. Except for a brief period in about 1953, when Ruby managed the a motion picture house called the Ervay Theater, the operation of nightclubs and dance halls was his primary source of income. Business was Ruby's basic interest in life during the 16 years he spent in Dallas prior to shooting Lee Harvey Oswald.
