Description:

Incredible Lee Harvey Oswald Signed Photograph, Scarce, One of Only a Few!

Lee Harvey Oswald signed and inscribed photo dating from only about a year before the assassination of President Kennedy from the period when Oswald was still in Russia and about to return to Dallas. The black and white portrait of Oswald is inscribed and dated on the verso: "To Mother / Love Lee / June 6, 1962 / Minsk USSR." Accompanied a signed letter from Robert Oswald, who confirmed receipt of payment in exchange for the photograph, along with the original envelope. The photo measures 4.25" x 5.5"; the lower edge was trimmed at a slight angle. The envelope measures 9" x 12." From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist.

Oswald was honorably released from active duty in the Marine Corps into the reserve and defected to the Soviet Union in October 1959. He lived in Minsk until June 1962, when he returned to the United States with his Russian wife, Marina, and eventually settled in Dallas. This superb signed photo is one of only a few known. The important association and iron-clad provenance makes this the quintessential highlight for any collector of Oswald historical artifacts.
