House of Reps Massachusetts Bay War Council Shuts Down Legislature Due to War

MASSACHUSETTS BAY COLONY.  Manuscript, 1 p., June 7, 1776, 7.5" x 12.5".  Toning, folds with slight separation repaired on verso, else near Fine for its age.

RESOLVE ADJOURNING BRISTOL COUNTY COURTS:

"Whereas the Court of General Sessions of the peace & Inferiour of Common pleas in and for the County of Bristol is by Law be holden at Taunton in said County on Teusday the Eleventh of June Instant and Whereas many people are called away by unhappy War that this Continent is engaged in whose business be acted on at that time and by reason that many persons are members of the General Court must Give their Attendance the sd Courts should sett as by Law Appointed Therefore Resolved that the said Courts be and hereby are Adjourned to the Tuesday of September next being the Time at which the of General Sessions of the peace & Inferiour Court of Common are by Law to be holden at Taunton within and for said County Bristol and that all pleas processes writs Actions & suits issued to be Issued Complaints precepts Recognizances and all other and things Returnable and having day & that should have day in the said Courts if the same were holden on Tuesday the day of June Instant shall be returnable and have day in said Courts on the second Tuesday of September next and shall and Continue unto that time & shall then be proceeded on & determined to all intents & purposes as effectually as if said were held on the day by Law Appointed as aforesaid."

Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
