George Washington & John F. Kennedy Hair Relics

A lot of three unique hair relics belonging to 1st U.S. President George Washington (1732-1799) and 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). The hair relics are artfully arranged along with proper certification in matted and framed displays. No pieces have been examined out of the frames.

The lot is comprised of:

1. A single strand of George Washington's hair, displayed in a windowed reliquary at upper left. The hair is located above a detail of a reproduction of "Washington at Verplanck's Point" by John Trumbull, and several high-quality photo-reproductions of provenance material certified by Charles Hamilton, Handwriting Expert, and Louis Mushro, lifetime member of The Manuscript Society. The reliquary measures 1.375" x 1.75" while the overall frame measures 11.5" x 14.75" x 1.125."

2. A "Piece of President George Washington's Hair" displayed at upper left. The hair is exhibited above a reproduction of "George Washington as First Colonel in the Virginia Regiment" by Charles Wilson Peale, and a document relating to the item's provenance as certified by Charles Hamilton, Handwriting Expert. The hair strand measures approximately .5" while the overall frame measures 13.875" x 16.375" x 1.125."

Additional provenance includes a letter dated July 18, 2002 stored verso. Signed by former owner Bob Szarek who outlines the chain of custody of the strand.

3. A single strand of John F. Kennedy's hair, displayed in a windowed reliquary at lower center. The hair is located below a detail showing Kennedy seated in the Dallas limousine, and is flanked by the signature of Louis Mushro, lifetime member of The Manuscript Society, at right. The reliquary measures 1.375" x 1.75" while the overall frame measures 14.875" x 17.25" x 1.25."

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

We do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
