Dealers' Lot Space Autographs, Shepard, Glenn & Lunney, 5 Pieces Total

A dealers' lot of space-themed autographs featuring Alan B. Shepard, John Glenn, and Glynn S. Lunney, five pieces total. Autographed material includes signed photos, signed commemorative covers, and signed books. Please refer to catalog photos for additional information related to condition, which shows isolated wear but is overall very good to near fine.

The lot includes, in alphabetical order:

1. A first edition copy of Alan B. Shepard and Deke Slayton, "Moon Shot: The Inside Story of America's Race to the Moon" (Atlanta: Turner Publishing, Inc., 1994), signed by Alan B. Shepard (1923-1998) on the full title page, as "Alan Shepard." The stated first edition book has an abbreviated number line, 10-4. The hardcover book has its original dust jacket, complete with the unclipped retail price, and is in near fine condition, with only a few jacket puckers around the top headband and a few superficial marks to the front cover. 383pp. 6.375" x 9.375" x 1.25."

2-4. Three items relating to John Glenn (1921-2016), including two signed photos and a signed commemorative cover:

- 8" x 10" glossy color photograph showing Glenn in full space suit flanked by two technicians prior to his mission launch, printed on Kodak paper, signed as "John Glenn" in black felt tip pen at upper left. A hologram sticker from "Yesterdays Legends Authentic" is located in the lower left corner.

- 10" x 8" glossy color photograph depicting Glenn climbing into the Friendship 7 space capsule on February 20, 1962 in advance of the Mercury-Atlas 6 mission, signed by Glenn in silver felt tip pen as "John Glenn" at upper left.

- A First Day of Issue postal cover "Commemorating / First Successful Orbital Flight / by an American / Feb 20, 1962 / John H. Glenn, Jr." signed by Glenn in blue felt tip pen as "John Glenn" at center above the February 20, 1962 Cape Canaveral postmark, with canceled 4-cent U.S. "Project Mercury" stamp. 6.5" x 3.75."

5. An oversized semi-glossy black and white photograph showing Glynn Tunney (1936-2021), Deke Slayton, James A. McDivitt, and Gerald D. Griffin in a tense discussion at mission control during the April 1970 Apollo 13 mission, signed by Tunney as "Glynn S. Tunney" in the lower right corner. In an unusually near fine condition considering its size, with only a few edge imperfections. 14" x 11."

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
