Mirzá Ali-Kuli Khan (1879-1966) was a Persian Bahá'í who served as a communications secretary for ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and as an interpreter for Mírzá Abu'l-Fadl when he visited America. The Bahá'í Faith was established in the early 19th century in Persia and spread to parts of the Middle East. The religion centers around achieving world peace through the establishment of unity, justice and equality. Followers of the Bahá'í Faith specifically advocate for racial unity, gender equality, universal education, and the unity of science and religion. Khan lived in the United States off and on throughout his career and served there on the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States and Canada. He also is credited with producing some of the earliest English translations of the Bahá'í Writings.
